Frequently Asked Questions

How many dives do we do in a day?
The average dive day consists of 2 tanks. However, arrangements can be made to do a third tank.

Do you have Nitrox?
In order to ensure that our underwater groups stay together and that no
one is subjected to unnecessary waiting time during our surface
intervals, we only dive with compressed air.

How long does it take to get to the dives sites?
Depending upon where we dive it will take anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

What type of safety devices do you proved on the boat?
We carry the standard safety devices such as life vests, life boat with engine, flares and first aid kit. In addition to this, we carry inflatable “sausages” for your use, O2, VHS radio and GPS.

Where is the nearest Hyperbaric Chamber and how long does it takes to get there?
The nearest Hyperbaric Chamber is in Suva. Once it is determined that such a treatment is needed, a helicopter pick-up is arranged. It will take approximately 45 minutes from the time the call is made for a pick-up to the time of its arrival in Suva.

What activities are available for a non-diver?
We can arrange many top side activities for a nominal charge. Available are the following: village trips, waterfall trips, day trips to Suva, billy billy trips, shopping trips into Raki Raki on Market Day, water skiing, kayaking, fishing, windsurfing, and day hiking or picnics on Nananu-I-Ra Island.

What type of gear do you have for rent?
We have BCDs, regulators, wet suits and computers for rent.

Do you have camera gear for rent?
Currently we do not provide rental camera gear.

Do you use moorings for your dives?
The majority of our dive sites are drift dives, or “live” dives, in which the boat will pick you up where you surface.

Can we dive from the beach?
Shore diving can be arranged however, it is much better snorkeling. Since the beach area at Wananavu is tidal there are many small critters in the shallows. The beachs areas on Nananu-I-Ra Island are excellent for snorkeling. Otherwise, the visibility for diving in and around Wananavu and Nananu-I-Ra is not remarkable since the area is surrounded by a barrier reef.

Do you do referral certifications?
Yes, we can complete your certification process with PADI. However, for your own enjoyment, we highly recommend that you complete your certification prior to arriving in Fiji. Basically, you're travelling a great distance to dive in Fiji. We feel that the two days you'd spend training in a bay would be time better spent diving some of our fabulous spots. But either way, we'll work with your schedule.

What type of diving affiliations do you have?
Our Instructors and DiveMasters are all proud to be PADI certified professionals.
